Discontinuance
We are sorry to hear that you are discontinuing, but it is good that you take time for yourself to recenter and come back ready to study. A discontinuance means officially withdrawing from ALL classes during a semester.
How Do I Request Discontinuance?
- Log in to Workday Student.
- In the search bar, type “Request Withdrawal” and select the correct task.
- Enter your withdrawal date.
- Select the appropriate reason for withdrawal.
- Click OK to proceed.
- On the next page, review all details carefully and check the confirmation box.
- Click Submit to finalize your request.
There is more information found in the Enrollment Support for Health and Personal Circumstances section Office of the Registrar Student Enrollment Options.
Contact the Registrar’s Office if you plan to be away for multiple semesters.
Please check with these departments to aware them of your departure:
- Housing to get your checkout instructions and avoid any unnecessary fees or charges and see if there is a refund on fees paid.
- ISS (if this applies) to make sure your travel documents are in order.
- IWORK (if this applies) to let them know you are leaving and take care of finances.
- Check with Financial Aid to see what your balance is. This needs to be paid so you have nothing owing when you are ready to come back to BYUH.
- Travel Services to assist you in booking your ticket home.
