Mission Statement
The BYU–Hawaii's Collaboration Assessment Response & Evaluation (CAREs) Team is a cross-functional group of university professionals dedicated to promoting the holistic well-being of the university 'ohana. By fostering a culture of support, understanding, and proactive care, the team upholds the principles of love, service, and the Aloha Spirit. Committed to addressing personal, health, emotional, academic, and spiritual challenges, the CAREs Team operates in a confidential and collaborative environment to ensure every individual is valued and supported in their journey to thrive and succeed.
Purpose and Objectives
The BYU–Hawaii CAREs Team strives to:
- Promote Well-Being: Enhance the overall well-being of the campus community by identifying and addressing challenges early.
- Provide Resources: Connect individuals to appropriate campus and community resources for support and assistance.
- Malama and Build Others: Cultivate a culture of care and understanding where all individuals feel valued and supported.
- Proactivity and Critical Response: Implement early intervention strategies to address concerns before they escalate into crises.
- Protect Confidentiality: Maintain the privacy and dignity of all individuals involved in the care process.
